Shooting Alabama, Chuck E Cheese: Two wounded, including child (Reports).

Vestavia Hills Police Department said one round was accidentally fired from a gun inside a car. Investigators said it appears the shots were fired while the adult was changing the child’s diaper and the gun was in proximity. The child was shot in the leg and has non-life threatening injuries. The adult male was shot in the upper body and is in serious condition.

Police are talking to witnesses and collecting evidence.

It’s unclear whether there will be any charges filed.

UPDATE (3:44 p.m.) Ryan Farrell with the Vestavia Hills Police Department said police responded to reports of multiple gunshot-wound victims around 2:56 p.m. at the Chuck E. Cheese’s on Montgomery Highway.

An adult male with potentially life-threatening injuries was transported to UAB Hospital. A pediatric female with a gunshot wound was transported to Children’s Hospital in “stable condition at the time,” according to police.

No word yet on the search for a suspect.

VESTAVIA HILLA, Ala. (WIAT) — Several Vestavia Hills Police officers are outside the Chuck E. Cheese’s after a shooting.

No information about potential victims has been released by VHPD in the active investigation.
