Rowland “Boon” Gould, a founding member of the British band Stage 42, has died aged 64.

The guitarist was discovered lifeless at his dwelling in Dorset earlier this week.

In a message on Twitter, his brother Phil, who additionally began the group, mentioned: “My coronary heart is damaged.”

Stage 42 bassist and vocalist Mark King mentioned: “It’s with the heaviest of hearts that I’ve to inform you of the passing of our pricey good friend and brother Boon Gould.

“Dorset Police confirmed that he was discovered lifeless at his dwelling on Tuesday morning.

“You’re at peace now Boon, no extra ache mate. Thanks for every part. Mark x.”

Shaped in 1979 by the Gould brothers, King and keyboard participant Mike Lindup, Stage 42 went on to have a string of hits within the 1980s and early 90s, together with Classes In Love, Operating In The Household and One thing About You.

The Gould brothers and King grew up on the Isle of Wight, enjoying in bands collectively as youngsters, and later met Lindup in London.

Boon Gould left Stage 42 in 1987, only a few months earlier than his brother. Nevertheless, he continued to jot down lyrics and joined the band to make a visitor look at a present in 2012.
